I love sparhawk and Kuriks constant bickering, like an old married couple. So, the short version is, if you like quests, swords, true love, magic and knights, read this. But I also hate the things that happen here just to fill the pages, because they’re not part of the plot really, and no, they don’t have any effect on the characters. Eddints later switched to writing epic fantasy, a field in which he achieved great success. Which says a lot. The setting here is very detailed and the characters are mostly plausible, even if they do quip back and forth like they’re starring in a sitcom.

Again, it is a straight forward story of knights on a quest that chop things up with their swords as needed, and trust magic to do the rest. Everyone else is a barbarian or a drooling lunatic, or a brainless zombie.

It’s a davic read, potato chip craving that somehow moves beyond. They’re short on time, the queen is dying with every day, but Aphrael only uses her time-altering abilities when they encounter Wargun.
