Trying to learn analysis with this book alone is probably impossible, and definitely not enjoyable. One of the most interactive and amazing books on Calculus. My two volumes of Apostol originally belonged to my father.

There are no discussion topics on this book yet. It was a bit hard to follow at first but then it was a great reference source and for exercises.
Apr 04, Ron rated it liked it Shelves: Integration is treated before differentiation–this is a departure from most modern texts, but it is historically correct, and it is the best way to establish the true connection between the integral and the derivative. It is not necessary to get this in depth but for the math major or anyone who wants to study the subject rigorously it is both satisfying and incredible beneficial to see how a system can be built up.

I would especially recommend it for people who are in a hurry to learn the relevant bits of real analysis in order to study some other more, but not necessarily technical subject that require or utilise analytic notions like the supremum and infimum of sets, epsilon-delta proofs, sequences or limits etc.

This review has been shfrbet because it contains spoilers. Nevertheless, they appear to be perfectly good introductory calculus textbooks.
